AIM Photonics Chief Operating Officer will present at the University of Pittsburgh Infrastructure Sensing Collaboration (UPISC) Workshop on November 13, 2024 at 2 p.m. Dr. Harame is an Invited Industry Speaker at the event and will present on AIM Photonics and On-Chip Photonics Manufacturing and Design.
Manufacturing Day
Local high school students will celebrate Manufacturing Day with AIM Photonics on October 4, 2024. Students from the Capital Region BOCES Manufacturing and Machining class and Mohonasen High School’s AP Physics program will learn about silicon photonics manufacturing and tour the Albany NanoTech Complex with AIM Photonics Director of Education and Workforce Development Bob Geer and Photonics Technician Garret Heritage.
Frontiers in Optics + Laser Science (FiO LS)
Join AIM Photonics AIM Photonics Director of Outreach Dr. Nathan Lin and Research and Development Engineer Dr. Mohammad Rakib Uddin at the Frontiers in Optics + Laser Science (FiO LS) in Denver, Colorado. Dr. Uddin will present on “A Vertical-Junction Carrier-Depletion Micro-Ring Modulator,” and Dr. Lin will act as a presiding chair and technical program committee member.

Luminate's Accelerator Program: 7th Cohort Presentations
AIM Photonics will host the Luminate Accelerator Program: 7th Cohort Presentations on August 9. Luminate, based in Rochester, NY, is the world's largest business accelerator for startups working on emerging technology enabled by optics, photonics, and imaging. Startups accepted to the cohort received $100k each and compete for $2 million in follow-on funding.
Photonic Integrated Circuit Test and Measurement
AIM Photonics Design Enablement Manager Amit Dikshit will present during the upcoming Photonic Integrated Circuit Test and Measurement webinar presented by Tech Briefs. Dr. Dikshit and his fellow speakers will discuss new tools, facilities, and equipment that have emerged recently as solutions to the challenges facing the development and testing of PICs. The 12-week AIM Photonics Summer Internship Program will culminate in a poster session, during which the interns will share their research results with fellow students, mentors, engineers, and semiconductor industry professionals. AIM Photonics and NY CREATES employees are invited to join the interns to learn about their research on July 26, 2024, from 1 to 3 p.m. in the NFS Rotunda.

AIM Photonics Design Enablement Manager Amit Dikshit will present our design enablement offerings in SiN Technology as part of the Design for Sensing: Using SiN for Sensor Technology and Biosensor Webinar hosted by Luceda Photonics. The webinar will focus on SiN, a critical material system for integrated photonics, mainly due to its transparency and low loss across a wide range of wavelengths, and its compatibility with CMOS processing.

Fabless Design of Photonic Integrated Circuits within the AIM Foundry (PIC-1)
Take a deep-dive into fabless photonics design using industry-leading Electronic Photonic Design Automation (EPDA) software to model, simulate, layout, and error-check a photonic integrated circuit for high-tech applications. PIC-1 is a 10-week, instructor-led course that begins on April 2, 2024, and ends on June 11, 2024.
