Call for Proposals - AIM Photonics: QFlex Design Competition and MPW Access

AIM Photonics would like to invite those interested to submit proposals to be included in the AIM Photonics: QFlex Design Competition and MPW Access (QFlexDC). This competition will provide 8 mm2 or 25 mm2 on a QFlex MPW run at no charge rather than providing funding directly to the competition winners.

In this call, QFlex Design Competition and MPW Access (QFlexDC) seeks proposals from organizations wishing to get PIC designs fabricated by AIM Photonics using the recently developed QFlex platform. QFlex offers performance down into the visible region of the optical spectrum, low-loss waveguides, devices and waveguides exhibiting minimal crosstalk, and other performance enhancements targeting quantum photonics-based applications. Additional details on the QFlex platform can be found on the AIM Photonics website. The current QFlex PDK is available, and references highlight prior research conducted using this platform and clarify its offerings (see project proposal). This project call challenges proposers to provide a compelling narrative as to how they would use this new platform to address an application/system in the field of quantum science. To encourage the widest group of ideas and designs this opportunity is available to any U.S.-based organization. By issuing this call for proposals, it is hoped that this opportunity will help grow the U.S.-based PIC ecosystem and advance work going on within the quantum photonics community.

All submissions must be received electronically on or before February 19, 2025 (no later than 11:59 PM (EST)).
