AIM Photonics at the New York State Innovation Summit, November 8-9, 2021

We’ll be exhibiting and speaking at the NYS Innovation Summit next week, November 8-9. Our Deputy Executive Director, Amie Kaplin, will be moderating a panel breakout session, “Innovations in Defense and National Security.” This breakout session will discuss efforts to coalesce New York State’s defense manufacturing sector, strengthen related supply chains, and ensure that the state stays at the leading edge of defense-critical emerging technologies. The defense and aerospace industries employ nearly 39,000 New Yorkers, generate $11.5 billion in annual sales revenue, and represent nearly $2.4 billion in exports. New York State also has key R&D strengths aligned with U.S. Department of Defense “modernization priorities” including microelectronics, fully-networked command/control/communications, 5G, autonomous systems, artificial intelligence, and quantum science.

The Innovation Summit showcases companies and researchers at the forefront of emerging technologies and new advancements in production capabilities. This event celebrates New York State leadership in technology-led economic growth with experts in biotechnology, new materials, energy innovation, and artificial intelligence that will explore current technology convergence opportunities, ways to accelerate commercialization, and issues of manufacturing sustainability.
