Fabless Design of Photonic Integrated Circuits within the AIM Foundry (PIC-1)
Take a deep-dive into fabless photonics design using industry-leading Electronic Photonic Design Automation (EPDA) software to model, simulate, layout, and error-check a photonic integrated circuit for high-tech applications. PIC-1 is a 10-week, instructor-led course that begins on April 2, 2024, and ends on June 11, 2024.

Frontiers in Optics + Laser Science (FiO LS)
AIM Photonics’ Electronic Photonic Design Automation (EPDA) Engineer Jobayer Hossain will present a compact modeling methodology for ring resonators used for sensors technology fabrication in AIM Photonics multi-project wafer (MPW) runs at the FiO LS Conference on October 11. This methodology—which builds compact models of the high-Q ring resonators working within the CL, O, YJ and IZ bands, in both TE and TM polarization—was developed based on measured data and is compatible with most standard EPDA tools.
Manufacturing Day
Local high school students will celebrate Manufacturing Day with AIM Photonics on October 6, 2023. Students from Cohoes High School’s AP Physics class and a group of 11th and 12th grade students from Tamarac High School will learn about silicon photonics manufacturing and tour the Albany Nanotech Complex with AIM Photonics Director of Education and Workforce Development Bob Geer and Photonics Engineering Manager Nicholas Fahrenkopf.
